BURTON PLANTATION
The wood on the east side of Towles Fields was purchased in 2004 as an amenity for the villagers to enjoy. The cost was met by donations from residents (£13,000) and grants from Charnwood Borough Council (£5,000) and Leicestershire County Council (£10,000). It is managed by a committee:

BURTON PLAYING FIELD ASSOCIATION
The Playing Field Association manages a playing field, for the use and enjoyment of Burton on the Wolds residents. The field is situated in Towles Fields off Barrow Road.

CRICKET CLUB
The Cricket Club has two teams playing on Saturdays in Leicestershire Senior Cricket Leagues and also plays occasional friendly matches on Sundays.

JUNIOR CRICKET
The Cricket Club holds 'Kwik Cricket' and 'Incrediball' sessions for youngsters of both sexes on the playing fields at Towles Fields, organised by Phil Simmonds. Tel. 880607

TENNIS CLUB
The Tennis Club plays on the two courts at the playing field. It organises knockout tournaments during the summer season and also arranges social events - American tournaments, barbecues, etc.
Tournaments and coaching are also arranged for junior members of the Tennis Club.

THEATRE CLUB

WALKING GROUP
Leicestershire provides a wealth of opportunity to walk over unspoilt country. The group walks are usually about 5 miles in length and in the local area of the county. The role of walk leader is delegated to members of the group in turn. Contact Rosemary Adams at
